Cleaning and Disinfecting Guide

 Here is some information that you need to know before you get started!

What are the differences between cleaning and disinfecting? 

  • Cleaning: Cleaning the surfaces from dirt and dust. You can use soap and water to remove germs from surfaces. The cleaning process does not kill germs but removes them from surfaces. 
  • Disinfecting: The disinfecting process is killing germs from surfaces. Disinfecting could be done by using a sanitizer that contains chemicals. This process should be done after cleaning the surfaces. 

 Steps on how to clean and disinfect your car’s interior!

                Before you get started, you need to follow the guidelines below:

      1. Protect yourself by wearing a face mask and disposable gloves. Make sure not to touch your face during your cleaning and disinfecting processes. 
      2. Gather the supplies needed in order to clean and disinfect the cars properly.
      3.  Familiarize yourself with the frequently touched “hot spots”.  These hot spots are door handle, car switch, AC controls, steering, gear and so on. Make sure to take special care when cleaning and disinfecting these areas.

Now, after you have prepared yourself, you are ready to clean and disinfect your car!

STEP 1: Clean

Clean the interior part of the car with a microfiber cloth, wipe the steering with a little bit of water and soap. Use the vacuum to clean under the seat or between the seat belt. 

 

 

STEP 2: Disinfect

Before applying any spray to disinfect your car, make sure your vehicle interior is cool and ready for the disinfectant. In order to kill germs in an effective way, you need to make sure that the surface remains wet.

 

STEP 3: Finish Up

Once you are done cleaning and disinfecting your car, do not forget to throw your face mask and the gloves you were wearing in the trash. You need to wash your hands immediately from 20-30 seconds.
